About

I am a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) at the Institute for Design Innovation at Loughborough University, London.

My research is interdisciplinary, drawing on theories and debates from environmental politics, social movement studies and critical theories of design research and practices. I am increasingly interested in the politics of epistemology and performativity in critical design. My current work is focused on three areas:

  • the epistemic role of design in (de-)institutionalising discourses of sustainability;
  • conceptualising and understanding the politics of design in contexts of collective action and community organising;
  • exploring design as a critical social practice that is a site to interpret and experiment with processes of democratisation in the everyday.
